Intrinsically Safe zero speed switches or Hall transducers are used in manufacturing and flow meter applications to determine speed or direction of shafts, turbines or gears down to zero speed. Our zero speed switches are certified to Intrinsically Safe standards by FM Global.

Intrinsically Safe Speed Switch Installation

The Intrinsically Safe zero speed switch MUST be installed with an FMRC entity approved barrier. Installations must meet the requirements of intrinsically safe systems for classified locations.

The Hall effect technology fulfills a wide array of applications due to a zero speed switch's ability to detect zero speed and direction change and produce a digital output. These zero speed switches are used in industrial applications to determine gear or shaft speed or direction by detecting magnetic field changes.
